Artisan Silk: A patterned damask silk with wavy lines is the background to a hand painted work of art. Emerald green silk is hand painted in rick colors and highlighted with gold details Multiple stencils were used to affix gold leaf patterns of waves and swirls. Approximately 12 yards of 14” fabric was hand painted before it was cut into the kimono panels. The amazing skill of the artisans is demonstrated at the seams where the design flows perfectly across the seams as if painted after construction of the kimono.
